The Capital Press Club traces its roots back to 1944, when it was established by African-American journalists who were denied membership to the National Press Club. Since its inception, the Black media group has been a beacon of light, providing a unique view of the world from an African-American perspective. The Capital Press Club tackles the difficult social, political, and economic issues of Blacks in America, and focuses on highlighting African-American achievement, which typically goes unreported by mainstream media.
